General Questions

The Plug House is South Africa’s digital lifestyle marketplace — a single app where you can:

  1. Order food and groceries from local restaurants and shops.

  2. Book transport (rides for yourself or deliveries).

  3. Shop products from independent and established vendors.

  4. Request on-demand services like cleaning, maintenance, or laundry.

  1. We currently serve select regions in South Africa, including urban areas, townships, and growing suburban zones.
  2. When you open the app, it detects your location and displays available services in your area.
  3. If we’re not yet active in your location, you can still sign up — and we’ll notify you when service becomes available near you.
  1. Yes. We prioritize your safety and privacy. Our drivers and vendors go through verification.
  2. All communication and payment are handled securely through the app. You can also track deliveries and rides in real-time, and contact support instantly if needed.

Account & Technical Support

Go to the app’s Menu section, then:

  • Tap Profile

  • Select Account Info
    From here, you can:

  • Update your name, email, or phone number

  • If you forget your password, use “Forgot Password” on the login screen to reset via email or SMS.

Here are steps to fix most issues:

  • Restart your phone

  • Ensure you’re using the latest app version

  • Clear the app cache (from phone settings)

  • Enable location and storage permissions

If problems continue, email support@plughouse.co.za with your phone model, app version, and a screenshot of the error.

Using the App as a Customer

How do I place an order for food, products, or services?

  1. Open The Plug House app.

  2. Choose a category — Food, Shop, Transport, or Services.

  3. Browse available vendors or providers in your area.

  4. Add items to your cart or request the service you need.

  5. Select your delivery address, payment method, and confirm the order.

  6. Track the progress of your order or booking in real time.

You’ll get updates when your vendor confirms, when your driver is en route, and once your order is delivered.

Yes — you can cancel an order, but only before the vendor or driver accepts it.
Once accepted, the order enters fulfillment and cancellation may not be possible without penalty.

To cancel:

  • Go to “My Orders”

  • Tap on the relevant order

  • Select “Cancel Order”

If the cancellation period has passed, contact support immediately. We’ll do our best to assist depending on the vendor’s policy.

We currently accept:

  • Debit/Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard)

  • Instant EFT (bank transfer via secure gateway)

  • SnapScan

  • Cash on Delivery (where supported)

More options (like wallet payments and Payflex) are coming soon.

For Vendors & Merchants

Visit theplughouse.co.za/register and submit your business details.
Once verified, you’ll get access to:

  • A seller dashboard

  • Order notifications

  • Product and inventory controls

  • Performance reports
    Payouts are processed weekly via EFT, and support is available daily.

We offer two billing models:

  • Commission-Based: A 8% percentage is deducted per order

  • Subscription: Fixed monthly fee, zero commission

You can choose the model that fits your business. Large vendors may qualify for custom plans.

For Drivers & Delivery Partners

Apply via theplughouse.co.za/signup.
You’ll need:

  • South African ID or valid permit

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Roadworthy vehicle (bike, car, or scooter)

  • A smartphone with GPS access

Once onboarded, you’ll receive delivery training, app access, and daily support.

  1. Drivers are paid out weekly via bank transfer.
  2. Earnings are based on completed trips or deliveries.
  3. You can track your trips, payouts, and tips via the Driver App.
